Hougang · library update
Hougang Library: what is open right now?
Cheng San Public Library is undergoing a refresh. Family Atlas does not currently list it as an open family destination.
Latest confirmed status · checked 3 October 2026
NLB's current Nodes page says a temporary Browse-n-Borrow kiosk operated at Hougang Mall while Cheng San Library was being refreshed. NLB lists that kiosk as running from 18 November 2025 to Q3 2026.
Because the published period has now ended and NLB has not published a later end date on that page, Family Atlas does not treat the kiosk as confirmed open today.
What the temporary service offered
NLB described a self-service Browse-n-Borrow kiosk on Level 1 of Hougang Mall, near the atrium, with up to 550 books for all age groups, reservation collection and borrowing via a library card or the NLB Mobile app. The listed hours were 10 AM–10 PM daily, including public holidays, during its published operating period.
Before making the trip
Check the official NLB page for the latest Hougang arrangements before visiting. Family Atlas will update this page when NLB confirms a reopening date or a replacement service.
